So, here we are! I can still remember writing my “I’m becoming a freelancer” post on LinkedIn all those years ago. Now, after a rewarding decade of working as a freelance SEO copywriter and editor – collaborating with incredible digital marketing agencies, developing strategies, producing powerful content, and yes, learning a few valuable lessons along the way – I’m ready to find my forever team.
For a full overview of my professional experience, you can view my CV here.👇🏾
To hear what it's like to work with me directly from my clients, take a look at just some of my testimonials further down the page.
Why now?
Why the change? Simply put, life has evolved. My children are older now, and the intense flexibility I once needed is no longer the priority it once was. It's time for me to find a permanent role where I can continue to thrive, grow, and be part of a supportive and purpose-driven agency environment.
What I bring to your team as a digital copywriter and editor
If you're looking for a passionate and experienced team player, that's me! Here’s what you can expect:
A hardworking, tenacious attitude with a genuine eagerness to learn and grow.
Proven expertise in SEO content, website copywriting, email marketing and content editing.
A positive energy that lifts the team (plus a steady supply of morale-boosting memes if needed!).
Commitment to continuous development, with regular training to sharpen my skills and stay ahead of the curve.
In short: I’m ready to give my best to a team that shares my values and vision.
What I’m looking for in my forever agency
As I take this exciting step, I'm being thoughtful about finding the right fit. Here's what matters most to me:
A purpose-driven focus: Ideally, a healthcare, social justice, or social impact-focused agency that genuinely strives to improve lives.
Digital expertise: My background is firmly rooted in SEO content strategy, conversion-driven website copy, email marketing and content editing. I'd love the chance to expand my horizons and collaborate creatively with art directors too.
Opportunities for growth: I’m keen to stretch my skills into new areas and work with a team that encourages professional development and innovation.
Supportive and respectful culture: A workplace where everyone’s contributions are valued, and success is celebrated as a team.
Career development: Weekly training is already part of my routine, so I value agencies that actively invest in the growth of their team members.
Remote-first approach: ... unless you need to touch me for some reason. In which case, I'll be doubling my salary expectations. I am opening to flexible working.
A little extra spark: Lavish surprise gifts are not a requirement, but I wouldn’t say no. (Happy to provide a wish list!)
Still freelancing – for now!
While I search for my forever home, I’m continuing to freelance and have a few slots open for new projects. If you need help with copywriting, content editing or website conversion copy etc, feel free to get in touch via max@maxineknightwrites.com
Hear it from my clients
Don't just take my word for it – here’s what a few of my favourite clients had to say:
Let’s connect
It’s been a strong start to this exciting new chapter, with some interviews already underway. Still, I’m keen to cast the net wider – if you know of a fantastic digital marketing agency looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and strategic copywriter and editor, I would love to hear from you.
If we’re not already connected, let’s change that!
